Prof. Xueguang Shao developed chemometric methods for near infrared (NIR) spectra, including the methods of signal processing, modeling and calibration model transfer. New strategies were proposed for enhancing the sensitivity of NIR spectral analysis by combining the preconcentration techniques and chemometric approaches. Recent works were focused on developing new methods for exploring the information from temperature dependent NIR spectra of aqueous systems.
