Prof. Linqi Shi's group demonstrated the inhibition of amyloid Beta fibrillation using mixed-shell polymeric micelles (MSPM) based on the interaction between the hydrophobic domains on the micelle surface and the hydrophobic amyloid Beta peptides/oligomeric aggregates. They also reported that the proteolytic degradation of MSPM-amyloid Beta peptide complexes was greater than that of mature amyloid fibrils.
