Speaker: Prof. Yuliang Li (Institute of Chemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences)
Time: 7:00 pm, October 27 2017, Friday
Venue: The Academic Hall at the Institute of Elemento-Organic Chemistry
About the speaker: Sciences. He was the chief scientist of National Science Research Program "973" project of Ministry of Science and Technology (2007-2015). Currently he is the member of the expert group for the Major Research Plan of the National Natural Science Foundation of China (2008 - present). He worked as a visiting scholar and visiting professor at the Lab of Organic Chemistry at University of Amsterdam in Netherlands, the Radiation Lab at University of Notre Dame and Georgia Institute of Technology in USA, and the Department of Chemistry at the University of Hong Kong. He has published more than 600 peer reviewed scientific articles and invited reviews in the journals, such as Chem. Rev., Acc. Chem. Res., Chem. Soc. Rev., J. Am. Chem. Soc., Angew. Chem. Int. Ed., PNAS and Adv. Mater., Nat. Commun. et al.. He has been the recipient of numerous awards including National Natural Science Award of China, the Second-Class (2014, 2002 and 2005), the Second-Class Award of Nature Science of Chinese Academy of Sciences in 1999, and the First-Class Award of Nature Science of Beijing City (2014 and 2004) respectively. His research interests lie in the fields on design and synthesis of functional molecules, self-assembly methodologies of low dimension and large size molecular aggregations structures, chemistry of carbon and rich carbon, with particular focus on the design and synthesis of photo-, electro-active molecular heterojuction materials and nanoscale and nano-structural materials.
