Dr. Yong Chen obtained his Ph. D. degree in 2001 at Nankai University (China), majoring physical organic chemistry based on cyclodextrins. During his three-year period for the doctorate degree, he focused his studies on the synthesis and molecular recognition investigation of modified b-cyclodextrins by means of UV, NMR, fluorescence, circular dichroism spectra and calorimetry technique. In one year's research as an assistant professor at the Institute of Chemistry, Chinese Academy of Science, he started his researches in the field of organometallic and macromolecular chemistry. Subsequently, he went to Ecole Normale Superieure (ENS, France) as a post-doctor under the guidance of Prof. Pierre SINAY in 2002 according to the invitation from National Scientific Research Center of France (CNRS). In ENS, his topic was the synthesis and study of new system based on permethylated cyclodextrins. At the end of 2003, Dr. Yong Chen joined the Supramolecular Chemistry Laboratory of Nankai University as an associated professor, and became a professor in 2009.
