The College of Chemistry Held Symposium for Exchanges of Introduced Talents

At the beginning of this semester, the College of Chemistry held a colloquium for young chemists who had been introduced in the past few years. Chen Jun, the deputy president of the College of Chemistry hosted the discussion, and Qu Kai, the party secretary and others attended the meeting.

The 18 young scholars first briefly introduced their educational background, scientific research experience and research interests, after which, 6 of them, the freshly-recruited ones including Zi Weiwei, presented a detailed account of their personal introductions, scientific research achievements and plans. Chen Gong, Tang Pingping, Ye Mengchun and Liu Dingbin, four young academic leaders with their research group successfully organized and research smoothly proceeding, shared their precious experiences in talent development, scientific research, group management, etc.

The 18 young talents warmly discussed the creation of the academic exchange and cooperation of all-round and multi-level, and offered constructive advises on the utilization of social resources for high-level scientific research as well as the transformation of research results into practical application.

Ji Jingcheng, the vice dean of the College of Chemistry, explained the related regulations and important matters on doing scientific research, meanwhile promised to provide better management, assistance and service for promoting academic development.

Qu Kai presented the achievements made by the College of Chemistry in the past  year, and proposed expectations for the talents under the guidance of the “Double First-rate Construction” and the “13th Five-Year Plan”. He pointed out the importance of research team building and put forward higher requirements for the management of the college.

Chen Jun made detailed records during the whole colloquium, and give specific, valuable opinions and suggestions on some of the research work.

The discussion continued for 3 hours in a great atmosphere, which is expected to be held more frequently thus help build a platform for stable and free academic communication.
